The i-net PDFC application is a program for your computer that lets you compare two documents. You open two files and see the differences in a side-by-side view. All data stays on your computer. The comparison captures document structure and formatting, not just plain text or pixels, and supports PDF, images, and DOCX.
You get a full program for document comparison on your computer, without any files or data being sent elsewhere. The application gives you access to all comparison filters and document parsers from i-net software. The Standard variant has certain limitations compared to Plus and Server – the table below shows the differences.
| Standard | Plus | Server |
|---|---|---|
| Desktop application for side-by-side document comparison | Command-line access for batch processing of documents | Comparison of documents on the licensed server |
| All documents and comparison data stays on your computer | All documents and comparison data stays on your computer | All documents and comparison data stays on your server |
| API access for integration in custom products | Remotely access comparisons using a browser | |
| Developer SDK for Java and .NET developers | Permission based access for multiple users | |
| Web API access for RESTful document comparison | ||
| Scheduling of comparison tasks |
Note: The following documentation covers all variants mentioned above. Sections that refer to the server application also apply to this standalone application. Wording may differ slightly.
You can start the application from the desktop; you can also start it from the command line, where the files to compare and a comparison profile can be specified optionally:
"i-net PDFC.exe" <file1> <file2> <XML profile> # Example: "i-net PDFC.exe" document1.pdf document2.pdf comparisonprofile.xml
The order of parameters does not matter – the application automatically detects the two comparison files and the optional XML profile file. Be sure to put file paths that contain spaces in quotes.
The file formats .pdf, .png, .jpg and .docx are supported for comparison by default and are offered in the file browser.
